SKIP Hull and York

SKIP HYMS organise a two-week summer project to Kibaha, Tanzania.

Branch History:

SKIP HYMS formed in 2007 with our initial Needs Assessment trip taking place the year after making this coming year (2019/20) our 12th year running the project!

We typically establish a new committee by the end of July. The committee then begin recruitment of project volunteers from September-November each year. We run stalls around campus and numerous fundraising events both at York and Hull universities!

Get Involved:

During freshers’ fairs you can get an application form. If you won’t be there we’ll be sad not to meet you so you can also get in contact with us via email: or on social media!

We will also be running 'Give it a Go' events in York where we will run a variety of different activities. These include, an information evening where you can get more info about the project and the work of SKIP in general; some training for interventions to give you guys a flavour of what project involves; finally, there is the opportunity to sit in on committee meetings and see what we do from the organisation, global health and research and development, fundraising and recruitment perspective of our projects!

If you have an interest in global health, research, child safeguarding and welfare but can't commit to the summer project, we are always looking for help with organising, training and fundraising for our Summer project so feel free to enquire about joining the committee!
