Branch History:

SKIP HYMS formed in 2007 with our initial Needs Assessment trip taking place the year after making this coming year (2019/20) the branch’s 12th year running the project.

SKIP Hull and York typically establish a new committee by the end of July. The committee then begin recruitment of project volunteers from September-November each year, and run stalls around campus and numerous fundraising events at both Hull and York universities.

Get Involved:

Application forms will can be obtained from SKIP at freshers’ fairs. Alternatively, you can get in contact with SKIP Hull and York via email (detailed below) or on social media @SKIPHullYork.

'Give it a Go' events will be run in York for a variety of different activities, including an information evening; some training for interventions to give you a flavour of what project involves; and the opportunity to sit in on committee meetings and see what the branch does from the organisation, global health and research and development, fundraising and recruitment perspective of our projects.

If you have an interest in global health, research, child safeguarding and welfare but can't commit to the summer project, SKIP Hull and York are always looking for help with organising, training and fundraising for our Summer project so feel free to enquire about joining the committee.
