Our project is based in Southern Madagascar in the Fianarantsoa region.

We have previously worked in the city of Fianarantsoa and several small villages in the surrounding area but from 2019 we have focused on two rural towns 2-3 hours outside of Fianar city (Ambohimahamasina & Vohitsoaka)

We work in collaboration with the organisation NY tanintsika (http://www.nytanintsika.org/en/ ) and our project interventions include:

  • Basic hygiene & sanitation

  • Dental hygiene

  • Sexual health

  • Emotional Wellbeing

  • Project mwezi

Projects also give the opportunity for free time in Fianar, mountain treks and visits to see lemurs.

We recruit for project volunteers from September-November each year. We have stalls around campus during fresher’s fair where you can get an application form or drop us a message.

Volunteer training occurs from February – May in the form of a February training weekend and fortnightly training evenings from March. Most training is run by committee but we also have involvement of external societies such as Sexpression.
