Trustee - Training and Child Protection Lead
Dr Anna McLoughlin
SKIP History: I first joined SKIP in 2010 as a volunteer with SKIP HYMS on their project to Tanzania. I then spent time on branch committee as fundraising coordinator, volunteer welfare coordinator and project coordinator. Following this, I joined national committee in 2014 as national volunteer welfare coordinator and went on to be national coordinator in 2015/2016. I joined the board of trustees in 2016 and I have been the lead for training ever since, taking on extra responsibilities for child protection in 2018.
Role responsibilities: I'm responsible for ensuring all members of the charity receive adequate training for their role and monitoring the quality of training given in the charity via a training needs analysis. I work closely with the national training coordinator to manage our training network and ensure our training events run smoothly. I'm also the lead for child protection for the charity, ensuring we have adequate processes and policies in place to safeguard the children we work with.
SKIP highlights: I've loved every moment of my journey with SKIP and have gained so many invaluable skills and fantastic memories. I think the real highlight though is the inspiring people I've met and get to work with every day, right across the charity. I'm constantly amazed by the hard work of our volunteers and their dedication to our projects.
