SKIP – The best project in the world?
SKIP has been awarded 1st prize in the Projects Fair Competition at the 58th International Federation of Medical Students’ Associations (IFMSA) General Assembly.
The IFMSA is an independent, non-governmental and non-political federation of medical students' associations throughout the world.
The meeting, held in Tunisia in March 2009, saw a gathering of 102 National Member Organizations from 100 countries on six continents and represented more than 1 million medical students worldwide.
The UK was represented by Medsin, of which SKIP is a member. The Projects Fair Competition examined affiliated members’ projects and decided that SKIP had demonstrated one of the best student-led global health projects in the World over the course of 2008-2009.
The prize was graciously accepted by Anushka Mehrotra (SKIP Newcastle Co-ordinator 2008-09 and SKIP National Assistant Co-ordinator 2009-10) who represented SKIP at the conference.
